that´s the tricky part about "democracy".
making people believe they had a choice.....

Every war when it comes, or before it comes, is represented not as a war but as an act of self-defense against a homicidal maniac. (George Orwell)

Feel free to point out where exactly Marx said something against democracy.

RE: american 3rd parties

Mike Huckabee supporter Tony Beam says that evangelicals must beware Barack Obama and his rhetoric of change: "There can be no doubt that Barack Obama is both a Leftist dream and an Evangelical nightmare. He supports the most extreme agenda ever proposed for the American people. Yet most of his supporters don’t have a clue because all they know is he represents 'change.' It would be good to remember that Karl Marx brought change to Russia and Fidel Castro brought change to Cuba. Both forms of change came complete with chains that still bind people to the lie of Marxism. Change without knowing which direction the change will take us is a scary proposition."

just go to google and search obama / marx, unless you are afraid to see the truth just because he says he is going to bring change, oh wait, Marx said that and so did Castro, hmmm.

RE: american 3rd parties

However, FDR campaigned on the slogan of change, but he himself had no idea what to change or how to change it either, he just knew something had to change because the system wasn't working. Some of his programs worked, some of them didn't and some are still in operation now that need to be cut. I just don't think every President needs to know exactly what needs to be done, because sometimes they can know exactly what they're going to do and it all end up being wrong, kinda like with Bush.

A small amount of Karl Marx's theories do work though, because we use them in small doses nowadays. I don't think Marx himself is responsible for what has happened in Russia, China, Cuba, or North Korea, but rather the bad interpretations of Marx by Engel and Lenin. I don't think in Marx's works he ever wanted to make a pervasive state authority. It just suffers from misinterpretation just as Darwin's works were misinterpreted and turned into the abominable Social Darwinism - of which Darwin himself condemned. I'm certainly not defending Communism or Socialism nor do I endorse it, far from it, but I don't think Marx is exactly to blame for what has happened to Russia, China, Cuba, and North Korea. Who knows? Maybe someday someone will try a sort of "libertarian socialism" and see how that works? We never know, because all we've seen are statist socialisms.

In all truth though, Obama is a lot less leftist than Clinton - who would take the US on a wild ramage of major increase in bureaucracy, such as her universal health care proposal and further deepening our useless involvement in the Middle East. Not to mention, Clinton threatened the use of nuclear force against Iran, whom currently is not much of a threat to the US, the only threat Iran has is toward Israel, and I think it's about time we stopped carrying Israel like a baby in a cradle, time for them to sort out their own problems. Obama would favor troop cutbacks and a more conservative reform of the healthcare system, he'd be better than Clinton, but he's not near good enough to win my vote. One of the major reasons why I won't vote for him is because while he may cut back troops in Iraq, he will expand the war into Pakistan. Hell under such policies, we might as well declare war on every damn Middle-Eastern nation, overthrow their governments and give it all to Israel. Not to mention, as Michael Savage's sight pointed out (thanks for that), he would use his executive powers to see his goals done. I'm getting sick of Presidents thinking they are the commander-in-chief of the whole nation, not just the army. These guys have way too big of egos and are not using the due process of law to do anything anymore. It's been going on like this for the past 40 years and I'm sick of it. So Obama is not much better in my book than Clinton. Perhaps the only decent Democratic candidates might have been Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, or Bill Richardson and they are out now.

I'm going to support Ron Paul as long as possible, but I don't know how long he's going to last.

RE: american 3rd parties

We need to really look at these 3rd party candidates because from what i have seen from obama, clinton, and mccain i really dont feel to confident with where this nation is headed. If you knew me you would be really surprised that i am not confident in my nation right now considering that i have the flag waving from my truck antenna and i have the flag waving from the porch. I am one of the most patriotic people you will meet but the future of this nation is looking dark right now. I think its time that myself and everyone else starts looking towards these 3rd party candidates for our answer.

RE: american 3rd parties

Fukie, because patriots aren't exactly classified just from being flag-wavers. One of the biggest things that bothers me about these neocons is that they label anyone who questions the war and their beliefs unpatriotic, which is simply preposterous. It's the same kind of scare tactics since WWI and it what used to justify the passing of a bill that if you spoke out against the war you would be put into jail, a HUGE infringement on the First Amendment. Suddenly, it seems, that people don't have the right to seek justification in war once its already started. Hell, we haven't even had a legal declaration of war since WWII.

Some of the most patriotic people are those that question authority the most. Because if we were the type of people who were just silently obedient, we'd still be part of the British Empire. I believe it is the duty of Americans to question their authority and do more to protect their rights. To me, that is a more true to heart definition of a patriot.

Hell, if even the majority in the military have endorsed Ron Paul, it's a sign that even the military does not fully accept Bush's policies.
