How do I increase my influence? It keeps going down and down, and sometimes up again. I don't see how it relates to the way I handle my issues.

The influence more or less depends on the other parameters on the regent page (age, popularity, power, reputation, health). The easiest way is - to make decisions, which increase the popularity.
Well, so I'll be troubled taking more radical decisions?
I believe it also depends on my inclination to hold referendums?
Well, so I'll be troubled taking more radical decisions? Unfortunately, yes!
I believe it also depends on my inclination to hold referendums? Yes, hence, you leave the outcome to chance, you do not know which outcome will be finally selected. Better select "sit the task out"
Is there anyone who can explain me, which part of the population of an Ars-regendi-state receives funding from SQ welfare?
I wanted to assign it to the unemployed persons. That didn´t work. Closing from unemployed persons on the portion in the national budget also didn´t function. That the household consists of one quarter and not of one month, I considered. Likewise those unemployed persons, who do not receive transfer services. Extrapolation on one year furnished also only bs. I thought i am able, to use junior highschool mathematics, well, this may be a mistake.

I have some trouble here too. Puristan has expenditures of 896 billions, and roughly 697 billions for non per head positions (everything but welfare and pensions). So 199 billions are left for both per head positions. 18,600,000 pensionairs multiplied with 1,040 Euro per month multiplied with 12 months results in 232 billions, roughly the amount of left money (inflation and population developement could explain the difference between 199 and 232 in some way). But, where is the welfare?
Same with Libien (739 expended, 564 for non per head, 216 for pensionairs...) and Walachien (915, 646, 300). All three states appearantly pay nothing for welfare.
It is everything ok, the welfare is regarded properly. Your mistake is that you do not consider the amount of pensionists which don't get any money from the government, so the amount of money paid to the pensionists is lower than you computed.
So many people without pensions? Humm, well...

Without pensions paid by the state. Approximately - we have also to consider people who get partially a bit from the state and partially something from private insurances and so on.
I've just started this game and I wonder what those different coloured (yellow, green, red and blue) buttons under my state overview mean?
