Here is my list of the games with which I had most fun:

1. UFO -The Enemy Unknown (managed it on ultra hard without Blaster bombs, flight suits and psycho attacks and without saving)
2. Civilization II (reached Alpha Centauri 708 a.D., another game over 440%)
3. Master of Orion II
4. Age of Empires - The Rise of Rome
5. Fallout (great atmosphere)
6. Bundesliga Manager Professional (especially in hot seat Hehe; became Champion within four seasons, starting in amateur league)
7. Diablo I (two Level 40 characters, got a Bastard sword of speed)
8. Master of Magic
9. Age of Kings - The Conquerors (three times German Clan League Winner, one time winner of the German masters, 2100 rating on nomad map)
10. Doom II (killed them all Hehe)
11. Panzergeneral (conquered Washington on ultra hard level without saving (I'd like a happy-Hitler-Smilie now))
12. Battle Bugs (funny and difficult)
13. Age of Mythology (nice ideas, but not so well balanced)

Ah well, maybe I will have more time eventually to play again...

PS: Microprose was a great company!
You played UFO-Enemy Unknown without saving and that much handicap? You own my respect. Applaus Every time I play this game it took days. How did your soldiers survive Mars without beeing tested in Psi skills? Besides, great game. I love it!

The only game I love more is Master of Orion 1 (Microprose, too). Do you know it? Against that one the still very good second game sucks. I played this game with all races, all universe sizes and numerous enemies. A pleasure, cause you have really much tactical possibilities. In wich other game (in MoO II thats only partly possible) you can design your own ships? This is a real strategy game, unlike some newer stupid grafically perfect "click on your unit and tell them per mouse to destroy the enemy, then go back to the barracs and build new units" crap games.

Of course I had to test the Psi skills of my soldiers, but I did not attack with the Psi abilities. Smile

And yes, of course I know MoO I very well. I found it hard to decide which game had to be mentioned in my list: MoO I or II - I decided for the last one, maybe due to the points you could give for the abilities of your race at the beginning Noplan

Yes, that's true. But in my eyes this feature is not that important as the planetary variances (MoO has few big worlds blocking the spread like a plague tactics), the ship design (my favorite one) or the in my eyes better research. (in MoO II you hae to decide between projects, you often can't do both). Sure, sociology or the possible society forms (democracy, dictatorship usw.) are nice, but just not the same...I really apreciate the diplomacy both games. Is some of your listed games comparable to MoO I? It's hard to believe the best strategy game was already designed in 1993 although computer tech increases rapidly...
