It appears to me that there is something funny in cure for cancer project. I have now second quarter with statement that I have 1 quarter left on the project. I'd like to see this checked and sorted out as my nation nowherestan3 is spending 14 trillion per year on this project - all debt...

this is normal, the 1-quarter is not an exactly number but it's an estimation. it's nothing specifical for the cancer project but for all of them.

besides, be prepared for an economy collapse after the project is finished if you didn't decrease the project budget before finishing it if you still will get a chance then decrease this budget as much as you can.

I've completed this project a few times and every time my state ends up worse for it and my citizens are a lot less happy than they were before! And the mortality rate always shoots up after the cure for cancer has been found!

I think the cure for cancer project is really exagerated, both in research time and cost. Heck the cubans managed to make a vaccine that prevents lung cancer, gotta love them
With 14 trillion dollars you can wipe out most of the deadly diseases in the world I think this project should be revised.

We reduced the necessary time to 70 quarters, former value was 170. So players have less reason and less opportunity to increase PE Project like insane which means less problems when finishing the project. Still, it's expensive, and still, it may cause some trouble. But hey, it's Cure for Cancer!

In case you have a state which did / currently does Cure for Cancer, you might want to profit from the reduced duration and damage. So post here if you want your state to be set back to the time before the start of Cure for Cancer.

Hmm. I won't go to the trouble of getting all of my states set back. It would be a very big rewind for some of them...

But I'm sure that future states will benefit from this change!

I noticed following:
First and most importantly regent's health improved which is well worth the price.

International reputation shot through the roof and there was a nice opinion increase. I also noticed an increase in public heath as well and my progress improved something like 10%...

On minus side my GDP dropped 50% and unemployment shot from 10%->12%. However, debt is less than 90% of my current lowered GDP so it was not that bad as my economy is now balanced. On good side the nominal interest rate fell from 22% to 1% which should stimulate investments and lower unemployment on medium term. When I have a chance I'll balance the economy by constricting slightly excess money supply to keep external value of money in check.

Tempting offer but I think I'll have a new vision in my mind for Nowherestan4 that I'll start to experiment as soon as Nowherestan3 collapses...12% popularity rating and elections 4 quarters away...

hey, the project screen says it has a cost of 170b/€ per quarter, I've started it and it's costing me 700b/€ per quarter... what's wrong, this is ruining my budget
