I want to keep my nation
I believe that most players of the game have grown to love ruling over the affairs of their country. In light of this fact, why should players have to contend with the risk of being thrown out of government and losing their state forever? I have a suggestion. How about after being thrown out of government a player is still allowed to participate in the game tasks (but as an opposition to the government in power) where he/she is able to rebuild their popularity by choosing task (with no effect on the economy whatsoever, only to build popularity points) and if by the next election their popularity has risen to the majority say 51% they get to rule over their country again.

RE: I want to keep my nation
Don't worry, even though your regend dies, the state is kept in the game archives and you can access it any time you like.
The myth that the founding of American Republic was based on the philosophy of John Locke could only have been maintained, because the history of Leibniz's influence was suppressed.

RE: I want to keep my nation
But it will be frozen, no more quarters will pass.
Regaining the country by good task decisions is a nice idea, but I guess players wouldn't be too happy with the long waiting period (16 days for every election, assuming one-tick) and the missing control over the state. They would even be frustrated if the new government does nonsense or if no tasks (and so on) are solved while regent health drops and drops...

RE: I want to keep my nation
Point noted. I just thought it would be wonderful to have the privilege of sticking with one nation and building a history.( as in real life)

RE: I want to keep my nation
This is a good point. There have been several games I've played which forces you to stop playing after a certain period of time or an event. It always makes me think:
What is the point in trying to achieve and spend all that time and money making it, for it to just get taken away from you anyway?
If democracy is a part of this game, then shouldn't we have the choice as to whether or not we give up our states?

Well, game design is not democratic here, for good reason. We listen to you but we make the decisions on our own...
If you want to play a state for a very long time, you can earn it, but you can't just demand it.

RE: I want to keep my nation
I don't recall demanding anything. All I suggested is that we should be given a choice to keep our states or not.

RE: I want to keep my nation
Regents here as in real life are mortal, your state is recorded in the archive and you can show it off once you've reached the end; and I can tell you you'll grow tired of your state, when you do a couple of tasks wrong, when you make some changes in the budget and the people will become less pleased with your rule and you'll want to start over to do everything better than before, so in conclusion play, learn, experience new template states, greater challenges.
