Bankruptcy task

Hey. I think this task is missing a solution offering the option of nationalizing the banks, instead of just guaranteeing the liquidity and burning money on the "chaos of the free market". Could something like that possibly be added to the task?

RE: Bankruptcy task

That's a bit much for a single task, since banks are a key part of the economy and have their lobbyists everywhere.

The reform "Planned Economy" nationalizes everything, including banks.

EDIT: And there is the "Bank Reform" which is especially for nationalizing banks.

RE: Bankruptcy task

Ok, I understand that, but nationalizing a bank that has failed anyway - since letting them fail is an option - seems to be not all that spectacular a move by the government. I mean I let them fail and my economy grew by 20%, so I'm not complaining.

Bankruptcy reorganization is the best thing for a sick banking system. Wink

RE: Bankruptcy task

Damn I was toying with letting them fail but was afraid it could ruin my economy so I went for the liquidity option now I shall have to wait for the next quarter to see how it affects things.

The option of letting them fail is quite good. It just lowers the savings rate a little, and that causes an increase in consumption. I usually choose that option myself.

RE: Bankruptcy task

Nationalization is not good and free market is good for high economy growth. All the top world economies support free market. As it is the matter of demand and supply.Economy is stimulated to get equilibrium stage.

This thread is about a specific task option. The discussion is not about what individuals fancy vis-a-vis economic systems. Besides, what you've just stated is a pseudoargument and also factually wrong. If you wish to talk about economics, search the economics part of the forum and search there for interesting threads - there are many, or simply open up your own thread, if you feel like it.
