Well, it's a simple thing: the bigger the change, the more probable a collapse becomes...

I am not sure how computation takes place but surely that can be fixed in time? I mean, in real life wars, busts/booms, bad/good policies, etc. have caused GDP figures to rise and fall relatively quickly. No so great as ~50% as far as I recall, but the game should be capable of simulating those things after all.

Well, within a certain scope the matrix is stable and behaves realistically. About 200 formula with up to 40 parameters each intertwine in a quite good way after my working about 2.000 hours on that system. Of course I tried to prevent it from crashes, but, as I said, it cannot handle big shocks. Maybe, some specialists in maths would be able to construct a better system - if they also had the economical knowledge - but my capabilities are not sufficient. I am sorry for that. Possibly, we can find a way via hard coding for eleminating crude failures, but that's not my job and there should be other things done beforehand anyways.

Well, my india template state Garhmarenghi is handling the massive nr changes very well. The basic income has not ruined it.

As I said, it's all about probabilities.
