being communist in the modern age, lol.

Provided they read the literature, accept that it has flaws, and do not blindly worship other humans... What is the problem?

You can look at any Communist country, they're almost always shitholes or they fall.

See: USSR and NK.

Places which, until communism, had nothing to begin with except being undre the yoke of empires or being a backward empire. At least under the communists there happened to be some development of infraestructure.

You have zero rights, you own nothing, you're forced into collectivism, you have zero motivation to actually be good at your job since you're given the same share as everyone else, it has killed 85 million people, it tells you to replace every single government with a commie country, and its almost always tyranny, it advocates equality and the "Will of the people" yet the people have no say.

Still better than living under a fascist state.

Capitalism gives you motivation to work harder, to get bonuses, to get that nice car, that new computer, new watch etc. etc. Even if it's vanity, it's freedom.

And it also promotes the commodification of human lives, slave labour, sex trafficking, dehumanization of workers, social alienation, dehumanization of self.... The list goes on.

I didn't bother reading all of that, but come on man. Would you rather be forced to be poor or given the chance to have it all?

Neither. I would prefer we erradicated poverty and hunger.

You may see capitalism as a better alternative to the socialism of the U.S.S.R. and North Korea... But this does not make the system perfect. If anything, it just shows how extremes are bad.

Well, either actually bother to read in order to understand what others are talking about, or don't read... in which case all of your posts will be parallel to the discussion.
As for "being forced" to be poor. This happens every day in the capitalist world. North Korea is a military dictatorship, a buffer zone between China and the US. It has so many trade sanctions imposed upon it, so you can't scapegoat central planning in its case.
Cuba, while also suffering the american trade embargo for decades, it is nonetheless a sovereign country - in which people enjoy freedoms as well as education, health care, and jobs.
The scandinavian countries, which are very leftist in economic policy, also enjoy lower levels of poverty than their western and southern counterparts.

Also, the thread's topic wasn't "which football team of the cold war you fancy best." It's about the neoliberal establishment in both mainstream profession/academia. About dogmatic thinking in economics, about the crisis in the euro-zone; and it's also a criticism of Marx. Nobody is making the case for leninism, stalinism, maoism et all.
