Grassroots Democracy

How do you create a grassroots democracy in the game?

I have noticed that some people have "grassroots democracy" in their state description, and it seems interesting. Ideally, I would like to create a progressive socialistic grassroots democracy at some point-- if the game allows it.

Does anyone know how it can be done?

Well, in my experience, to obtain the grassroots description - a regent needs to choose task options that promote popular democracy. A tactic would be to sit out tasks, which don't offer such options.

I haven't seen too many tasks that offer things like that. I guess I'll just have to hope that I can find enough tasks to achieve a grassroots democracy. I think I'll try it with my next state. Thanks.

RE: Grassroots Democracy

You don't need that many tasks for it, but you have to be careful with task options dragging your country into the party-democracy corner. Reforms also affect your state's classification, and there are a few favoring 'grassroot'.

Once you achieved that, there is an even bigger challenge: Make it to 'anarchy'. Zwinker2

I've never seen a state with the anarchy description before-- though I suppose 'state' would be a bit of a misnomer.

Has anyone ever achieved it? And if so, where do I find a state with the anarchy description? I'd love to see what the result looks like.

RE: Grassroots Democracy

Lol, I got to Grassroots Democracy in couple of ticks in simply by holding a referendum in nearly task. State did not last long though.

I have become disenchanted with party politics as they are practised in this country and with the pressure groups which have an undue influence on the major political parties. [Don Chipp 1925-2006]

I checked all states' current quarters and appearantly there is no such state. Given the formula it's quite difficult to achieve, so a player would have to understand the mechanics first.

Yeah, that works. Every referendum drags the state a bit to "Grassroots Democracy", so this title is easy to achieve. However, referendums won't help much with the anarchy description...
