Healthcare in my developing country: public or private?

So I'm raising this developing state in a world and I'm coming up to sufficient influence to choose one of the healthcare reforms.

A lot of people would surely suggest that I choose universal healthcare once I have the funds to do so but besides political feelings in real life what should I do practically? I had a Germany template on another profile and I enacted private healthcare by accident and it actually worked very well and boosted health and happiness through the roof.

I had this idea that I might enact private healthcare in my largely left policy state on the basis that I'm already providing a lot of state subsidisation of wages as well as the negative income tax related task basic income and I can use this to accommodate healthcare costs. So surely it makes sound logic to make sure my citizens have enough to live whilst allowing the private sector so ensure good quality healthcare in my country and it won't take the huge budget increase as well.

My advice is to not do any of them. In terms of net results, though, you're better off with privatized health care reform. Univeral in this game shrinks your acquisition tax revenue (because mandatory insurance vanishes), explodes your health care spending, and it barely increases your health index.

It's mostly just personal preference. As Helsworth said, the universal healthcare reform increases your health spending massively and also reduces your tax rate slightly, making it an expensive reform. The result is a small increase in your health index and a likely popularity increase. If you choose this, make sure your budget can handle it.

The privatised healthcare reform will reduce your health expenditure and create economic growth, which is good for your budget. However, you will likely see initial drops in health as well as popularity. Apparently the privatised healthcare reform has better long-term impacts on health but I think that either reform can be risky in a developing template.

Personally, I have found universal healthcare to be more effective in the economically weaker templates, whereas privatised healthcare seems more effective in the power state templates. But in the end, it is up to you.

Privatization is better. Private sector will make it more efficient over time, as well as better quality. It will be costly at first, but seeing as there aren't any Libtards in this game trying to overthrow every sane government, it should be worth the short term hit to popularity and health. Just make sure it is politically feasible.
