Do I have to buy them with real money?

Hence: All you have to do is to keep on playing successfully. Buying experience points is neither possible, nor required. They have no impact on the game play whatsoever, except for an 5 EP treshold before a player can join a world.

How many Experience Points will I get if I complete a whole leadership cycle of 250 quarters? I just did so with a tickless world, pretty proud of my first go around! Yall better watch out now, haha.

How come my state says I got 170 EP for my tenure, but only 100 EP is reflected on my profile???

Unfortunately, there is a standing issue: Tickless states should give you experience points like all other types of states, but they do not. The team is aware of this issue and of course it is planned to be corrected. However, there are a some more pressing issues to be solved at the moment...

I already contacted our Admin responsible for the technical aspects, namely Benedikt Magnus. He simply added a plain value of 100 EP to your Account, so that you do not suffer an actual disadvantage with respect to the creation of world states (due to the forementioned 5 EP threshold). We can update the count to 170 if you wish to see that, but as previously mentioned the experience points do not say much about the ability of a player. In contrast, Glory Points are a way better indicator, since they are awarded mostly in Worlds where you compete with others.

I may have made an incorrect assumption, I just joined World Riga, and besides everyone's names was their EP, so I assumed the EP would have some bearing in the dispersement of state types in the world, that is why I am playing the tickless states, because I thought it would lead to me getting a better state class in the world.
I do not know much about the game, but I have been perusing the forums for a while now and thought I had read that at some point. I would like my EP count to properly displayed though, if it does have a bearing on state type in the world. The world is already up to 88 players, so I assume it should start in a couple days.

Your assumption is correct, and due to forementioned restrictions I did not bring that up in the previous post. Sorry if that caused confusion.

The impact on the distribution will be limited, since 170 EP are not significant enough to compete for the high tier templates. Among the suspected weak state classes, there are furthermore some with a potential to overpower seemingly better states in the mid- to late-game.

But anyway, that is just for the sake of saying it. I asked Benedikt to update you EP counter once more. Edit: It is possible that this will take some time. He is currently very busy, but it will happen as soon as possible.
