Michael Hudson on Modern Monetary Theory, describing Paul Krugman for what he is

Michael Hudson gives us a reminder of what the Chicago boys did in Chile, of what Paul Krugman really is, and what Modern Monetary Theory is about. More and more people in different countries are waking up to the lies of the neoliberal establishment, and want to hear what MMT has to say. A whole arena packed with 21.000 people took their time to hear about MMT, which is a grassroots academic phenomenon - people getting together on the internet, dissecting accounting reality, and exposing the religious myths behind absurd policies of ideological strife (aka, austerity for the people, hand outs for the financiers and the rich).

RE: Michael Hudson on Modern Monetary Theory, describing Paul Krugman for what he is

It interests me that the occupy movement attracts some hedge fund managers behind the scenes, I wonder how many and which ones.

When he describes free market economics it sounds much more like he is describing social democracy (education, roads, etc being free, heavy state regulation or straight up control of monopolies, liberal labour laws designed to help the working man) and not free market economics as I understand it.

Ironic that the view comes from Russia today - which strikes me as an international mouthpiece for the kremlin. (that is supposition).

All of the heterodox economists that I'm familiar with are social democrats (except for the austrians/libertarians). Post-keynesians and MMTers are not right wingers (anti-government/anti-welfare).
Russia today entertains austrian speakers, but also post-keynesians, like Kelton, Hudson, Steve Keen etc. While all the corporate media manipulates for one side or the other, RT tv at least spares us of all the usual neoliberals we see on the other channels.
