South Africa Signs Treaty with Canada, Repeals Sanctions Against COL

Kgalema Motlanthe, President of South Africa

CAPE TOWN - In a stunning about-face from some of his previous positions, President Kgalema Motlanthe announced a series of South African diplomatic initiatives today. First, the president signed a treaty of friendship with the East Asian nation of Canada. "With this agreement, South Africa is not only committing to non-aggression, but we are proudly designating Canada as an official partner," Motlanthe declared. Moreover, the president proclaimed peace with the Coalition of the Light (COL). "South Africa hereby repeals all diplomatic and commercial sanctions against the countries of the Coalition of the Light. I hope that these actions show the seriousness with which South Africa is committed to ensuring peace in Duisburg."

Motlanthe Lauds LIDEL and BCBC Holdings for Financial Assistance

President Kgalema Motlanthe, Republic of South Africa

CAPE TOWN - At the African regional meeting of the World Economic Forum, South African President Kgalema Motlanthe praised BCBC Holdings and their partners in LIDEL for their generous grants to OEEC member-nations. "I openly admit that I am biased because South Africa specifically has received tremendous sums of financial assistance," Motlanthe noted. "But beyond South Africa, the Coalition of the Light's aid has contributed to the stabilization of the entire African continent. Three of the four remaining functioning governments in our region have received funds that have stabilized our respective fiscal situations and, indirectly, stabilized the region."
