Project?

I estimate in 10 days that my country is going to reach the 900th level of progress, so I'm trying to figure out in advance which project I should start then: space elevator or cure for cancer.

Space elevator looks a lot shorter, and I think it would give a big boost to my education, arts, and tourism levels as well as accelerate my rate of research in future projects. Cure for cancer though looks like it will have far reaching improvements on health care although it will take so long that I might not see it work until my regent's death or be able to start the Voyage to Mars.

Advice?

RE: Project?

the cancer projects costs a lot of money. your akeron state could do it, but your russia state toledor would crash with it^^

RE: Project?

Yeah, since I did money reform 2 in Toledor, the economy has been stagnating. Things are getting better though as I keep cutting the interest rate though. bigsmile

If I do select the Cure for Cancer, I think I'm going to increase the budget until its completion time is cut down by 75%. However, do you know if the Space Elevator has any effects on research? I don't think astronomy would have deep impacts on biology in real life, but this is a game where science would be treated as an aggregate, so who knows? Pfeif

RE: Project?

The Space Elevator increased the level of automation as far as I remember. It also improved my economy, although I had a short period of recession after it was finished because of the drop in government spending. Next time I'll cut on PE projects before it is finished. And I'd suggest doing the same with the Cure for Cancer or your economy will suddenly be missing the 500 billion in government spending.

RE: Project?

the space elevator has nothing to do with astronomy, it helps bringing materials in the orbit, so it helps the satellite and spaceship industry.
