Spire cities project

"There is no more room horizontally", states academician Vlad Vernadsky. "Downward is too expensive, however the sky has no limits. As our great country's population continues to grow and flourish, we must begin the construction of spire cities and integrate them all together. With the latest developments in anti-gravity and acoustic levitation people will be able to fly and reach their required destination with much more ease. Thus mass and individual means of transit will be enhanced and there will be no accidents or crazy driving because the logic engines aboard our satellites alongside those aboard every vehicle will prevent these things from happening. This won't be constructed overnight and it won't be cheap."

The developers can best decide upon the effects, duration and costs of the project, however I think that the Personal Rapid Transit project should be a requirement; Maybe even the Fusion power project too, since anti-gravity technology would require a very high energy flux density source of power.

RE: Suggestions: Projects

How about an animal cloning project. Expensive to get going and pay for, but at the end of it when the research is done, you reduce the starving population and increase the amount of the food problem that it takes for them to starve at the risk of alienating religious people and extremists who feel you're playing god.

Or maybe some kind of Robo Factory project which increases the country's automation to maximum or close to it. If you're not careful, you could have an unemployment problem and labour time would hit an all-time low, but the project could maybe slowly take effect as it gets closer to finish so people can compensate (or not for maximum "Fun"!). On the other hand, exports go up as the country's new automated factories increase output. I could even see crime rates going up as people look for SOMETHING to do with all their new free time.

There are task options which deal with artificial meat and robotization Wink You get access to them as your nation's progress level increases.

RE: Suggestions: Projects

Cultural: I like the monument one, but there should be more of that kind, which could match the kind of regime you want (A statue of Liberty, An ecuestrian monument, a triumphal arc...). Also, a representative building to match your regime (A Grand Parliament for republics and An Imperial Palace for monarchies for example)
Technological: Cure for AIDS is a good one. I would also add: robots, nanobots, martian colony, space stations (where people can live) and perhaps decrease the fusion power a bit because right now is basically imposible.
Economical: A World Bank (something like the IMF or so)
