RE: UK Election - May 6th 2010

Sry Thom, I didn't want to be offensive towards anybody, but I didn't lie:
There IS actually a large number of UK passport holding people who still do mention the war all the time (even after they've seen Fawlty TowersHmm)

We will see what the future brings, but I have to say that I am a little bit disappointed with the actual election (and even more with this BBC swing-seat-dance-guy Rolleyes)

"If you grab them by their balls, their hearts and minds will follow." (Yes, Minister)

The Greens got their 1st seat in the UK parliament. Hooray! It's a start in the right direction. I too, hope erventually the outcome of this election will lead to a LIb/Lb coalition and PR.

Letting ideology aside, what do these parties propose they do, regarding the break down crysis of the world's entire financial-monetarist system?

Cross their fingers and hope it doesn't happen.

RE: UK Election - May 6th 2010

There does seem to be a lack of clarity on how any party will solve the UK's own debt problems, let alone anything else. Each of them have massive holes in their tax and spending plans and the national debt is increasing by £500,000,000 every day!

As far as the UK deficit goes, Conservatives planned to cut spending by £6 billion immediately by reducing government administration.
Labour planned to carry on spending in the hope that recovery from recession will accelerate then raise taxes next year.
Liberals planned to modify the tax system so nobody earning less than £10000 annually would pay income tax. Future cuts would be made to the defence budget.

The reality is that only a combination of tax rises and spending cuts will really have any effect. National debt is expected to increase to £1,500,000,000,000 by 2014.

Or rather the EU states would use their sovereignty and stop paying the ilegitimate and fictitious debt of the inter alpha group and other banking swindles and put the whole system under bankruptcy reorganization. This of course means breaking the Maastricht Treaty chain ball and dropping the failed euro system. Wink (I can dream can't I...)
